GOP / NRA Alliance...
February 17, 2018
At the end of the day, we have another mass school shooting, and GOP lawmakers who are in the pockets of the NRA and gun lobby give us useless platitudes and distract from the underlying issue of the problem of the accessibility of guns to people who just plainly should not have them.
Sure we can have a talk about Mental Health, but there also needs to be a talk about why people who are mentally imbalanced should not have access to weapons. This is not to take away the gun rights of law-abiding citizens, this is to try to keep weapons out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them. And this is not to equate mentally ill people who have not committed a crime to actual criminals, we know criminals will get guns on the black market which is a different issue. But the accessibility of these weapons to people who have been diagnosed with mental health issues issue that we need to address as a nation.
